Lobelia is a trailing warm weather annual and tender perennial, native to South Africa. From spring until fall, the Techno Series produces masses of delicate flowers on trailing, well-branched stems with narrow dark-green foliage. Traditional Lobelia tends to die back during hot weather and re-blooms as the weather gets cooler, but the Techno Series has been bred to withstand the hottest summer temperatures and continue in nonstop blooming. Lobelia is most desired for its delicate, ever blooming colors, heat tolerance, low maintenance requirements, and mounding habit.

Lobelia Techno Blue is a trailing plant that grows dark green foliage and fills its stems with dainty, bright cobalt blue blooms. Syngenta has mastered the Lobelia genetics and created the Lobelia Techno, Techno Heat, and Techno Heat Upright series. It is commonly used for mass planting in the landscape, or featured in hanging baskets and other containers combinations. Taller and fuller varieties with an upright habit go nicely as mixed fillers in the garden, while varieties with a trailing and mounding habit go well in potted combinations, window boxes, and hanging baskets. Lobelia grows best in moist, fertile, well-drained soil, and is a full to partial sun exposure flower. Lobelia thrives in the heat and is easy to grow. Techno Blue will bloom all season long. A key feature of Lobelia Techno Blue is that it is heat tolerant and does not require deadheading.
