Growing Future Leaders Through Seed to STEM
Lucas Greenhouse was honored to once again host educators from across the country as part of the 2026 Seed to STEM professional development program. This incredible initiative, led by Seed Your Future, brings agriculture and horticulture educators together for an immersive experience that connects classroom learning with real-world careers in horticulture.
This year's program welcomed 34 educators from 17 states for four days of behind-the-scenes visits to leading horticulture businesses and organizations. During their stop at Lucas Greenhouse, participants explored our trial gardens, learned about large-scale greenhouse production, saw automated seed planting and irrigation systems in action, and discovered the technology and innovation that drive today's greenhouse industry.
Our goal was to help educators see the wide range of career opportunities available in horticulture, from growing and production to research, automation, sustainability, engineering, and business. By experiencing these careers firsthand, teachers can bring new ideas and industry connections back to their classrooms, inspiring the next generation of horticulture professionals.
We are proud to partner with organizations like Seed Your Future in helping students discover the exciting possibilities our industry has to offer. Investing in educators today helps cultivate the innovators, growers, and leaders of tomorrow.
