Vinca catharanthus roseus 'Cora Punch'

madagascar periwinkle

Cora Punch produces large, 2” bright red-rose blooms. Plants are both heat and drought tolerant, making them ideal for everything from borders, edges, containers and rock gardens to mass plantings. The Cora series is a F1 hybrid collection bred with a patented resistance to the common vinca threat known as aerial Phytophthora. Uniform flowering across the series allows you to mix and match different cora colors.

Height: 14-16 Inches

Spread: 22-25 Inches

USDA Zone: Zones 9-11

Color: Bright Red

Interesting Notes:

The Cora F1 series has patented, high tolerance to aerial Phytophthora, a common disease that effects vinca.

Growing Tips for Homeowners:

Cora Vinca wants the sun. Plant in a full-sun location with well draining soil. Be careful not to over water even though the cora series is bred to have a high tolerance to diseases such as aerial Phytophthora. The ideal water conditions are still to keep running plants on the drier side, watering only when soil feels dry to touch. Flowers do not need to be deadhead. Utilize a granular, slow-release fertilizer on install and then follow up with a well-balanced complete liquid feed once or twice per month.
