Begonia semperflorens cultorum 'Prelude Rose'

Wax Begonia

Compact and exceptionally uniform, the Prelude series of green leaf begonias will provide your garden with masses of color that will stand up to both the rain and heat. Prelude Rose will give you clusters of rose flowers on green leaf plants. The harmony series is the dark leaf counterpart that we offer to the prelude series.

Height: 6-8 Inches

Spread: 6-8 Inches

Color: Rose

Interesting Notes:

Sometimes referred to as Wax Begonias due to the shiny surface of their leaves. You might also hear folks refer to them as Fibrous Begonias because their roots are very dense and fibrous.

Growing Tips for Homeowners:

Begonias do well in both the sun and partial sun locations but most take advantage of their part-sun designation. When planting include a granular, slow-release fertilizer to help keep the plant going, thus the season. We also strongly recommend applying a complete balanced liquid fertilizer every other week as well (more often if plants are in a container or basket in which nutrients are being leached out.) Soil should be kept moist, but not wet or soggy. Too much water or planting in a soil that does not drain well will greatly increase the chances of root disease. Common diseases that impact begonias include botrytis, pythium and rhizoctonia. Deer will typically leave begonias alone.
