Lucas Greenhouses grows a full range of mums, from very early varieties through late-season extenders, helping keep your customers in color all season long.

We take great pride in carefully evaluating the hundreds of mum varieties available and selecting only the best performers for our customers. Our mums are grown on dedicated production fields with ground cover and drip irrigation that provides consistent liquid feed throughout the growing process. Generous spacing and carefully managed growth help produce strong, well-branched plants with the full, uniform shape Lucas mums are known for. The result is a high-quality finished product that looks great and helps you stand out from the competition.

Our mum program is available in six pot sizes to meet a variety of retail and landscape needs. Our most popular size, the #9 pot, is a proven favorite for retail sales and large landscape displays, with more than 600,000 grown each year. Additional sizes include #4.5, #6, #10 Hanging Basket, #12 Terra Pot, and #14 Terra Pot.

Providing a stunning amount of blooms, in unique colors, Asters are a flowering perennial that will give you a burst of blue, purple, pink, or white in late summer/early fall.

The pollen on open Aster flowers often attracts bees. It is best for the Asters to be brought into your garden center or installed in a landscape when only a few flowers are open. We would recommend that customers avoid placing near decks, patios, or other social locations since they are so attractive to bees.

Known for their exceptional cold tolerance and colorful foliage that intensifies as temperatures drop, ornamental cabbage and kale have become fall favorites for landscapes, containers, and garden center displays. Their bold color, unique texture, and excellent frost tolerance provide long-lasting interest well into the fall season.

Lucas Greenhouses grows nearly 100,000 ornamental cabbage and kale each year in three sizes to fit a variety of uses. Our #9 pot is our main size, while our #6 and #4.5 pots are ideal for combination planters, window boxes, and smaller retail applications.

Our selection includes several distinctive varieties chosen for outstanding color and texture. Glamour Red features unique rose-red, shiny fringed center leaves, while Redbor stands out with finely curled, dark purple-magenta foliage.

The Crystal Series flowering kale adds another unique option to our fall lineup. Available in Deep Red, Pink, and Snow, Crystal features a strong, vigorous habit with wavy, glossy foliage and excellent cold-season performance. Deep Red and Pink offer bold, brightly colored centers, while Crystal Snow features a delicate pink center surrounded by creamy white and rich green outer leaves. With outstanding frost tolerance and color that develops as temperatures cool, the Crystal Series is an excellent choice for long-lasting fall and early winter displays.
